Nyt on ollut saatavilla edullisia päärynöitä, jopa useita eri lajikkeita. Päärynä taipuu moneen - se sopii salaatteihin, jälkiruokiin, voileipiin ja juustojen seuraksi. Päärynää voi keittää, paistaa tai grillata, jolloin siihen muodostuu aivan erityisen hyvä aromi. Monet pähkinät ja päärynä muodostavat hienostuneen makuparin. Kokeile oheisen salaattiohjeen makuyhdistelmää. Saattaa kyllä käydä niin, että jäähtyessään pähkinät katoavat parempiin suihin, sillä ne ovat vastustamattoman herkullisia sellaisenaan.
Päärynä-gorgonzolasalaatti
lehtisalaattia
rucolaa
2 - 3 kypsää päärynää viipaleina
150 g gorgonzola juustoa paloiteltuna
1 -1 ½ dl hunajaisia saksanpähkinöitä (ohje ohessa)
oliiviöljyä
vaaleaa balsamiviinietikkaa
Annostele lautasille tai vadille salaatit, päärynäviipaleet, juustopalat sekä jäähtyneet saksanpähkinät. Pirskottele annoksille hieman oliiviöljyä ja balsamiviinietikkaa.
Hunajaiset saksanpähkinät
3 dl saksanpähkinöitä puolitettuina
1 rkl voita
1 rkl hunajaa
1 tl sokeria
ripaus suolaa
Pane uuni kuumenemaan 175 asteeseen.
Sulata isossa paistinpannussa voi sekä hunaja ja anna niiden kiehahtaa.
Ota pannu pois levyltä, lisää pähkinät ja sekoita hyvin.
Kaada pähkinät pellille leivinpaperin päälle ja ripottele sokeri ja ripaus suolaa pintaan. Sekoita ja levitä pähkinät tasaisesti pellille.
Paista uunissa noin 8 minuuttia. Jäähdytä hyvin.
